Payment methods
To use Socrate Business Services, a valid payment method is required. An SBS account is active only if it has a valid and active payment method.
Available payment methods
You can choose between one of the following payment methods:
- Custom Contract. This is the default payment method that you can select upon creating a new account. If you choose this payment method, your SBS account will be activated manually, after you sign a business contract with BIT Software (https://bitsoftware.eu).
- Amazon Marketplace subscription. Alternatively, you can purchase a Socrate Business Services subscription from the Amazon Marketplace (https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-pyiu5hokqgasy).
If you choose an Amazon Marketplace subscription as payment method, after completing the purchasing process, you are redirected to the SBS Console for signing up with Socrate Business Services. Here, you can choose your AWS Subscription as valid the payment method during the sign-up process.
If you already have an SBS Account, you can assign your AWS subscription as a valid payment method to your existing SBS Account at any time, as described below.
Update an SBS account’s payment method
To update the payment method associated with any SBS account:
- Sign in to the SBS Console.
- Click the user profile icon in the top-right corner of the page, and then click Switch Account. All available payment methods (except “Custom contract”) are listed in the “Payment methods” table:
- Click Edit
next to the account you want to edit. A dialog box appears.
- Select a payment method, and then click Save.
Deactivating an Amazon Marketplace payment method
If your payment method is an Amazon Marketplace subscription, you can cancel it at any time from your Amazon Web Services account. Note that the deactivation of a payment method takes about 1 hour to complete. During this process, the payment method appears with status “Deactivation in progress” in the SBS Console. Once deactivation is complete, the payment method status becomes “Inactive”.
